10 #Genealogy Things You Need to Know This Morning, Friday, 6 Dec 2013, via 4YourFamilyStory.com. #needtoknow
  • Bruce Buzbee revealed yesterday on Google+ there is a new free update for Rootsmagic users and I'm really liking the ability to print sources on a pedigree chart feature. What an excellent time to crank up our 'puters and delve into our Rootsmagic databases and start creating pedigree charts that have sources on 'em.
  • 23andme gives us an update on their FDA mishap and outlines exactly what's going on for their clients and potential clients, which at this point is the genealogy market -- you and me. So read it carefully. And then read it again.
  • If you have a world subscription to Ancestry.com [And I do.], you'll be pleased [And I am.] to know they have 4 updates to existing databases for England and Australia.
  • Oooh. Have some naughty ancestors? In Canada? Then you'll want to check out this Canadian database that Elizabeth LaPointe highlights on her blog Genealogy Canada.
  • Did your ancestors live in or around Bernville, Burks County, Pennsylvania? Then you'll want to keep an eye out on Lorine's latest fabulous digitization project.

  • Ever have an oopsie when sending an email but didn't realize it was an oopsie until after you pressed Send? And then wished you could have a do-over? Well, Gmail gives us an email do-over now.
  • Got malware on your computer? PCWorld gives us the top tested malware removal services.
  • Today's the registration deadline for NGS' January Salt Lake City Research Trip.
  • Tomorrow the Jamboree Extension Webinar Series is hosting a free webinar with Jean Wilcox Hibben, PhD, CG, called Getting Family History Information Through the Back Door. Go reserve your free virtual seat now.
  • And USGenweb volunteer contributors uploaded 461 files yesterday for various counties in the following US states: Alabama, California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin. [Louisiana's showin' off today. They added 300 files for tombstones, obits, and even some photos.]

Other things that might interest you. Maybe. Maybe not. But maybe.

  • There were 10 genealogy things you needed to know yesterday.
  • GoodReader & GeniusScan+ iOS Apps Make Researchers Smile [Giddy, even.]
  • Wow everyone this holiday season with these heirloom-in-the-making Heritage Ornaments
