So, my suggestion is to try to open the Surname Notebook Template in the 2007 version. If it doesn't work, then you'll need to set-up your own Surname Notebook Template by creating the sections in a notebook yourself. Thank you so much for your kind words, Kim. I think that OneNote sits in a lot of people's desktops gathering dust unfortunately. It's such a jewel for those of use who use and like Microsoft Office.

Hey Caroline, any chance you could post downgraded versions of these files for 2007 users?

Thanks, Caroline, for having a great session tonight. I learned a lot since I had absolutely no idea what OneNote was capable of doing. I appreciate your panel being there asking questions and making comments, as well. Tonight has encouraged me to look into getting the OneNote app.

Hi Caroline, Thanks have started setting up my families and templates in One Note. Have 2010 and will probably keep using it even though 2013 and 365 look appealing. Have learned a lot from your previous utube vids. Look forward to more. Retired in New Zealand and loving it!

I just stumbled across your Hangouts for OneNote. I'm a new OneNote user and find your videos very helpful. I really like how you set up the surname notebook, but I'm confused on how you organize it for each individual. Obviously, I have several ancestors with the name Baisley so I created a Baisley surname notebook. Where do I add all that information about each individual person? Do I add pages in each section?

Just a head's up Caroline....the link for the quick start guide is giving a 404 error. I did find another one here: http://prairiestate.edu/assets/global/itr-department/office/2013/onenote13-userguide.pdf
