Time to rise and shine! Here's your morning dose of genealogy news and resources to go with your cup of coffee. {Or fruit cup and tea.}
  • Debra tells us to register for SLIG before Oct 31st {early-bird registration deadline} to take courses like "American Research and Records: Focus on Families." Go check out all the details and instructors.
  • On GenVines.com, Janell gives us the latest on FamilySearch.org record and indexing updates.
  • MyHeritage.com tells us all about their new feature -- saving records to your tree.
  • Happy Constitution Day! And happy Citizenship Day! NARA gives us their list of events for the day if you're in the DC area.
  • From his British Genes Blog, Chris shares that Findmypast Ireland has added BNA Irish Newspapers.
  • Chris also announces the Seventh Tranche of Colonial Records will be released for viewing in the Reading Room at the National Archives (UK).
  • On their Facebook Page, Findmypast Australia & New Zealand revealed yesterday they have "released new and exciting Victoria Passenger Lists." {As opposed to the old and boring ones, I guess? ;)}
  • Tuesday, Sep 24th, Daniel Horowitz will be hosting a free online webinar, "Family History Puzzle: Find the gaps in your research." Though free, you will need to register to virtually attend.
  • On Techcrunch, Catherine tells us all about Bing's latest design reveal and improvements. {Are you also searching on Bing as well as Google for your ancestors? You should be.}
  • Do you use PowerPoint for giving presentations? Well, MS PowerPoint will be hosting a 15-minute Webinar to show how to use the Presenter View and how it can really help you in your presentations. {I just used it in my last online presentation, and it was really helpful.}
  • On Forbes.com, Tomio explains Box's latest announcement to its popular cloud storage service and how it plans to rival Google Docs/Drive. Great news for those using Box for its cloud storage and collaboration tools.
