  • The National Genealogical Society (NGS) has issued a call for papers for their 2015 conference to be help in St. Louis, Missouri.
  • Are you using the Dragon Dictation app as a tool in your research/analysis process? Macworld has a review of Dragon Dictate 4 for the Mac.
  • On Planting the Seeds, Michael Hait explains the idea of "'Reasonably exhaustive' research as a process of elimination."
  • If you're writing your family history, you might want to check out this list of writing apps and tools from novelicious.com that can aid you with your writing endeavors.

  • On Irish Central, Patrick Counihan discusses fears about Ancestry.com cornering the Irish genealogy market. [Very good read and he brings up some good points. However, I question if Ancestry.com really has the corner on North American records as he suggests. From what point of view -- from a competitor standpoint or from a researcher's standpoint? From the former, yes. From the latter, not necessarily, IMO.]
  • On EOGN, Dick reveals: Connecticut is Trying to Restrict Genealogists' Access to Records.
  • Yesterday, Archives.com announced the addition of 10 million new records in their databases for Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, and Montana.
