8 #Genealogy Things You Need to Know This Morning, Thursday, 1 May 2014. #needtoknow #familytree
  • Do you use Lucidchart to work out your research problems or to map out your writing? Well, now Lucidchart is integrated with Google Hangouts so you can share and work together with others...talk it out.
  • Onetastic for OneNote makes OneNote notetaking, um, fantastic. Like OneNote-on-steroids fantastic. [And thanks to Jerry Kocis for introducing it to me on Google Plus. Are you using OneNote to digitally organize your family history research?]
  • Sortd Is Like Crack for Gmail Productivity Junkies. (The American Genius) [I think the title says it all. Genius, really.]

  • On Family Tree Maker User, Russ shows how to import from MyHeritage to FTM.
  • As part of their 100 in 100 Campaign, findmypast.com has added record set number 27, Royal Artillery Other Ranks: Casualty Cards 1939-1947.
  • Yesterday, FamilySearch added record indexes and record images for England and the US state of Washington (County Probate Records).
  • Ancestry.com recently added quite a bit to their online collection: 4 new databases for England (West Yorkshire records) and 1 for NSW, Australia. They also added 4 new-to-Ancestry FamilySearch databases for the US states of Wisconsin, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Washington. Then they also updated 2 existing databases for England and the US.
  • And the USGenWeb Archives volunteer contributors uploaded yesterday various  types of records for various counties in the following US states: Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Michigan, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

Other things that might interest you. Maybe. Maybe not. But maybe?

  • Did you miss the 9 genealogy things you needed to know yesterday?
  • Use ThingLink to make your old family photos tell their stories.
  • Don't forget this when looking at FamilySearch collections on Ancestry.com.

Happy Researching!
